Malted Milk & Stracciatella Gelato Pops
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup malted milk powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
Instructions:
Put heavy cream, sugar, salt, malted milk powder, and whole milk in a saucepan
Stir the mixture all the time while heating it over medium heat until the sugar and malted milk powder are gone
Now take it off the heat and mix in the vanilla extract
Allow the mixture to cool a little
Put the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving some room at the top for them to rise
Let it freeze for about two hours, or until it starts to set
Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until it is smooth
Allow it to cool a bit
Take the popsicle molds out of the freezer and put a stick into each one
To make the stracciatella effect, drizzle the melted chocolate into the gelato that is only partly frozen and stir it around
Put the popsicle molds back in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight, until they are completely set
To serve, run the molds under warm water for a short time to loosen the gelato pops
Then, carefully take the pops out of the molds
Have fun
