Bacon and Cheese Waffles with Swiss Cheese Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- For Swiss Cheese Sauce:
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper together in a large bowl
Put the milk, melted butter, and eggs in a different bowl
Combine well
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together just until they are mixed
Add the bacon bits and shreds of cheddar cheese to the batter and mix them in
Follow the directions on the package to heat up your waffle iron and lightly grease it
Place the waffle iron with the batter on it and cook until the waffle is golden brown and crispy
Make the Swiss cheese sauce while the waffles are cooking
Low heat should be used to warm the heavy cream in a small saucepan, but not boil it
Add the shreds of Swiss cheese and stir it in
Keep cooking and stirring until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth
To taste, add garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the sauce
Take it off the heat
Slather the bacon and cheese waffles with Swiss cheese sauce and serve them hot
